How long will my treatment session last?
- Each treatment session lasts around 30-45 minutes. Your initial treatment session will consist of a detailed subjective assessment (history of complaint) followed by an objective assessment (physical examination). I will then give you a diagnosis of your problem and commence treatment.
What should I wear for my appointment?
- During treatment sessions, you will be required to expose the whole problem area, therefore you may need to bring a pair of shorts with you.
How much does an injury treatment session cost?
- An injury treatment session or a 45 minute sports massage are both charged at £25.
What type of injuries do you treat?
- I treat a wide range of musculoskeletal complaints including muscular strains, ligamentous sprains, tendonitis/tendinosus, back and neck complaints, joint pain and muscle spasm.
Do I have to come for a series of treatments or can I just have one session?
- It is possible to come for one-off sessions, however most injuries require a series of treatment sessions to ensure that the structure is fully healed and the injury will not re-occur.
What happens if you suspect something is seriously wrong with me?
- If I suspect you have anything sinister, I will explain the reasons and advise you to go to your GP as soon as possible.
Can I claim back any expenses incurred on my private medical insurance (BUPA, AXA, Norwich Union etc)?
- Unfortunately, you will not be able to claim your expenses off your private medical insurance policy, as most require treatment to be carried out by a chartered practitioner. As a Sports Rehabilitator, I am not a chartered practitioner however; BASRaT (professional body of Sports Rehabilitators) is striving hard to gain state regulation and if they are successful it maybe possible to claim expenses in the future.
If I have to cancel my appointment, how much notice am I required to give?
- If you cannot make an appointment, I will require at least 12 hours notice of cancellation.
Do you do mobile treatments?
- Yes, i do offer mobile treatments.
Which methods of payment do you accept?
- You can pay by cash or cheque.
